I HAVE A PASTRY MAT THAT I LOVE. MY DAUGHTER WAS HERE TO HELP WITH CHRISTMAS BAKING AND AFTER USING IT SHE WANTS ONE FOR HER KITCHEN. I WILL GIVE IT TO AS A HOUSE WARMING GIFT (SHE IS CLOSING ON HER 1ST HOME THIS MONTH) SHE WILL LOVE IT ALSO.

If you are like me, you just hate mucking up your countertops or table when you cook. This is the perfect all-purpose surface for rolling out pie crusts – you can used the easy diagrams for size. More than that, it’s a great surface for kneading bread or rolling out cookie dough. Please note that it is not, however “silicone” but a plain, sturdy plastic. The distributor quite courteously emailed me this information when I placed my order. Do not be put off – the actual material is a more useful surface in any case.

This mat is a great idea and worked well for about a year. Then, with no misuse of the product, the surface began to crack and it became unusable. It had never been in a dishwasher, nor rolled too tight. Too bad!

This is a large pastry mat that does what it claims. The problem with it is that it slides around the counter because it is so slippery. This makes kneading more difficult.
